Special Language Program
Language learning begins early — and it begins with fun. Through music, art, cooking, storytelling, and imaginative play, children are introduced to the sounds, phrases, and stories of languages from around the world. Our rotating monthly format keeps the experience fresh, engaging, and developmentally appropriate for young minds.
How It Works
1
One new language each month
Inspired by the cultures within our own community
2
Play-based activities
Like cooking, traditional crafts, songs, and interactive games.
3
Language immersion through everyday moments
Greetings, group time, storybooks, and classroom labels.
Languages We Explore
Each year, we explore at least five languages. Examples include:
Italian
Pasta-making, folk dancing, and fun language games.
Vietnamese
Cooking activities, storytelling, and traditional dances.
Chinese (Mandarin)
Lunar New Year stories, calligraphy, and cultural songs.
Somali
Exploring patterns, music, and folklore through crafts and songs.
French
Art in the style of Monet or Matisse, basic greetings, and musical rhymes.
...and more!

Family & Community Involvement
We welcome families to share songs, recipes, stories, or cultural artefacts that represent their heritage. Your involvement helps children see themselves and their classmates reflected in their learning, fostering pride and a sense of belonging.
