About Us
Growing, Learning, and Thriving Together!

Welcome & Mission
At Tommaso Fiaschi, we believe early childhood is a time of wonder, discovery, and growth. Our centre offers a nurturing, inclusive space where children aged 0–5 are supported to thrive — emotionally, socially, and intellectually. With strong ties to our community and a focus on multicultural learning, we’re more than a childcare centre — we’re a place where children build the foundations for lifelong curiosity and confidence.
Our Story
Named in honour of Dr. Tommaso Fiaschi — an Italian-Australian pioneer known for his compassion, leadership, and dedication to education — our centre draws inspiration from his legacy. Located in Carlton’s Little Italy, we reflect the vibrant cultural heritage of our neighbourhood while fostering a global mindset. Just as Dr. Fiaschi believed in the power of knowledge and care, we’re committed to nurturing each child with warmth, purpose, and respect.

Our Philosophy
Our educational philosophy is inspired by the globally renowned Reggio Emilia Approach and guided by the Victorian Early Years Learning Framework (VEYLF). We view children as capable, curious individuals who learn best through exploration, play, and meaningful relationships. Our approach places each child at the centre of their learning journey, encouraging creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration in a supportive environment.
Our Approach
At Tommaso Fiaschi, learning is hands-on, joyful, and deeply connected to the world around us. We embrace cultural diversity, celebrate community, and incorporate nature as a vital teacher. From bilingual storytelling to bushland adventures, every day offers new opportunities for children to explore, express themselves, and grow at their own pace.

Our Programs
Language Program – Each month, children explore a new language and culture through playful, sensory-rich experiences. With a focus on Italian, Chinese, French, Vietnamese, Somali, and more, we nurture early linguistic development and global awareness.
School Readiness – Our Kinder curriculum prepares children for a confident start to primary school, focusing on literacy, numeracy, social-emotional learning, and independence through play.
Bush Kinder – Once a month, our children step into nature with guided bushland excursions that promote resilience, curiosity, and environmental stewardship.
Outdoor Play – Our purpose-built outdoor area supports physical and sensory development through obstacle courses, movement games, and creative exploration.
